Audit Logs

In regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government, security departments require detailed audit logs. While open-source Apache Kafka does not provide them, Confluent Platform delivers Audit Logs. Authorization events are written directly to a dedicated Kafka topic.

RBAC

Confluent Platform introduces RBAC, which simplifies authorization by grouping permissions into predefined roles. Instead of managing hundreds or thousands of ACL entries (available in open-source Kafka), administrators assign roles to users or service accounts.
