We go to these events not only to keep up with current trends and techs, but also to spend quality time with our friends in the community, and hopefully make some new ones.
So, Rafal and a handful of developers put a great deal of energy into preparing for, attending, and recovering from Scala Days Berlin. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and after a flurry of activity setting up the stand, we went to catch Martin Odersky’s keynote speech and finally had time to relax a little at the Welcome Reception.
Our booth in the foyer was hugely popular with everyone. This could have been down to the free t-shirts, stickers and playing cards we gave away, but more likely it was Natalia’s everlasting smile that encouraged passers by stop to say hello. Thirsty delegates also found an oasis with us, but many were confounded by our puzzling Re(fr)active bottles of water…
As always, Scala Days Berlin was a huge success. For a specialist community like ours, it’s crucial that we get away from our computers and spend real face-to-face time with all the wonderful people who make incredible things with Scala. So, to everyone who was in Berlin last week, it was a great pleasure for us to spend time with you, and a huge thanks must go again to the organisers for the incredibly productive and enjoyable time we had in Berlin.
