Kraków Apache Kafka® Meetup by Confluent focuses on the Apache Kafka® technology and its ecosystem, also allowing its members to interact and share their use cases, do and don’t, how to’s, etc.
This time #VLteam is proudly represented by Łukasz with a talk on Overview of Kafka streams and tables. Łukasz is a Software Engineer at VirtusLab, a member of a team building security gateway and identity management platform. In his talk, Łukasz will present the building blocks of Apache Kafka: events, streams, and tables. He will explain how all elements fit together and what is happening under the hood.
But Łukasz is not the one and only star on the main stage that day.

Robin Moffatt, a Senior Developer Advocate @Confluent will provide us with an introduction to ksqlDB
You’ve got streams of data that you want to process and store? You’ve got events from which you’d like to derive state or build aggregates? And you want to do all of this in a scalable and fault-tolerant manner? It’s just as well that Kafka and ksqlDB exist!
This talk will be built around a live demonstration of the concepts and capabilities of ksqlDB. We’ll see how you can apply transformations to a stream of events from one Kafka topic to another. We’ll use ksqlDB connectors to bring in data from other systems and use this to join and enrich streams—and we’ll serve the results up directly to an application, without even needing an external data store.Robin Moffat, Confluent
